Road or the State Highway). We will travel through a fabulous and enchanting forest in convoys to reach Nilambur
Jetty (Middle Strait) from where we take a ferry for Baratang Island which is a 15 minutes ride. It is famous for
Mangroves, Limestone Caves and Mud Volcano.
Limestone Caves in Andaman and Nicobar Islands are located on Baratang Island. The beautiful Limestone caves in
Andaman are a visual treat to nature lovers. Limestone is a sedimentary rock formed at the bottom of the sea. It is
formed over millions of years when various deposits of marine life, shells, corals and skeletons undergo natural
compression to form unique shapes within the cave. The caves are lined with stalactites and stalagmites that hold the
secret of millions of years of Andaman. Nestled deep within the mangroves and amidst lush rainforest, the Limestone
caves are highly recommended to be on your Andaman itinerary.
• Mud Volcano
Mud Volcano is a rare natural phenomenon found in Baratang Island, where mud, gases, and water erupt slowly from
underground instead of lava. It is considered India’s only active mud volcano site and offers a unique geological
experience for visitors.
